Our Principal

Dear Stukey Families,

Welcome to Stukey Elementary!

Stukey Elementary has a tradition of providing a safe and caring learning environment with high expectations for all students.

With your help, our team of professionals will ensure your child has the opportunity to excel academically, socially, and emotionally.

As parents, there is one thing we all have in common; we have only the highest hopes and dreams for our children.  As educational professionals, the Stukey team recognizes students come to us with differing needs.  We understand students are individuals who learn differently, but also believe all students learn best through the example set from the caring adults in their lives. We ask you to be the central role model in your child's educational success by focusing on:

- attendance - ensuring your child is on time and prepared to learn

- reading as a family - spending time with your child reading something that interests them every evening

- goal setting - working with your child to set high and obtainable weekly academic goals

- celebration - when goals are met, and especially exceeded

- quiet time - ensuring quiet time is scheduled in the same place each evening for homework and organizing materials

- contact information - make sure contact information is accurate and updated with the office

Please take the time to read this handbook and go over it with your child.  Watch for Family Newsletters and visit our website (stukey.adams12.org) for updated information and important dates for school events.

At Stukey, parents and staff work together to support children's learning.  Communicating regularly with your child's teacher is one of the most important things you can do to promote a successful school experience for your child.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child, please do not hesitate to call any of our team of professionals.

Sincerely,

Jacob Murphy

Principal
