We had a fabulous time yesterday on our field trip! We learned that communities are the places we live, work and play. We went to Safeway, where we get out food. Next, we walked to the police station and visited jail and got to see police cars and other interesting police tools. Then we ate a snack because we were STARVING then visited the recreation center. I handed out rec. center brochures and free passes today. FINALLY, we got to eat lunch and play at Webster Lake Park (E.B. Reins). The children laughed and played together, celebrating fall and building our third grade Stukey community. After lunch we went to Horizons credit union where the children asked very specific bank related questions. I had the children find a shady spot and we rested a minute so we could walk the block to the assisted living center. A few of the children said they couldn't wait to get old and eat all the good food and hang out with the interesting residents. Finally, we dragged our tired little bones back to school and wrote some notes about the day so we wouldn't forget the wonderful learning experience.
Don't forget Thursday 9/13 and Friday 9/14 Assessment days. You can call me at 720-972-3433 If you can't remember what time or day your child should come.
No Friday letters this week.
The spelling test has been moved to Monday 9/17/07, please study over the days off, or the over weekend.
Have fun and enjoy the wonderful weather while it lasts!
